Torrey Darnell Sumner

Torrey Darnell Sumner, Age 49, departed his life on Friday October 10, 2025.He was born on October 07, 1976, in San Diego, California to Ms. Geneva James and Mr. Henry Alvin Sumner. Torrey graduated from Appling County High School in 1997, where he was active in band in the percussion section. He served in the Navy on the USS Eisenhower Ship. He also received his commercial driver’s license in truck driving where he became an instructor and received his hazmat, and tanker license. He received his degree in early childhood education. He was currently a teacher at Rockbridge Elementary in Norcross, GA. Torrey was a very high spirited, very respectable young man with religious beliefs. He will definitely be missed. His memory will be cherished by his; three children, Lydia Grace, Josiah Miach Sumner, with Roseline Sumner and Victor Lee, and his; two dogs (Stacy +Nuna)His loving mother Geneva Sumner of Baxley, GA. Willie Lee (Lina) James of Los Angelas, CA ; Alfred (Rose) James of Jesup, GA. Charles (Diana) James of Colombia, SC. Royce (Songie) James of Macon, GA. Harry James of Albany, GA. Mabel (Gus) Oglesby of Fort Valley, GA. Henry Alderman of Baxley, GA. Ruby Dell James of Atlanta, GA. Annie Pearl (Lonnie) Zinnamon of Baxley, GA. Carrie (Teddy) Stevens of Fairborn, OH and Garrett Sumner of Montana. He will also be missed by his host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends. .
